West Benton Fire Rescue is proud to support our climbers Josh Petroff, Rachael Voegele, and Lionel Martinez at the 2019 stairclimb for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – Washington/Alaska Chapter.
Each year, firefighters put on their bunker gear and run up the stairs of the Seattle Columbia Tower. That’s 69 flights, 1,396 steps, with 50lbs of firefighter gear. The annual fundraiser tests the strength, stamina, and determination of 2,000 men and women willing to take the climb. It is no easy task trekking up the tallest building in Seattle (788 feet high) and participating in the world’s largest on-air stair climb competition.
Way to go team! We are proud of you!
