Today Captain Bowden instructed an course on the proper use of fire extinguishers at Chukar Cherries. During the half hour training Captain Bowden was able to demonstrate the P.A.S.S. technique as well as go over some visual checks employees should be conducting in addition to any maintenance outside vendors may conduct.
When operating a fire extinguisher, remember PASS:
Pull the Pin. Hold the extinguisher with the nozzle pointing away from you and release the locking mechanism.
Aim low. Point the extinguisher at the base of the fire.
Squeeze the lever slowly and evenly.
Sweep the nozzle from side-to-side.
